Repairs to "Cheerio II" - 46 foot Yawl.

46 foot wooden yawl in need of serious repair hull bracing and support prior to restoration

This 46 foot yawl was originally built in 1931 by Fellows & Stewart. Upon "wooding" the entire hull exhibited the advanced stages of "iron sickness." Temporary external frames were installed to prevent hull movement, then steam bent white oak frames were installed, extending from the keel sockets right up to the sheer clamp.

Several floor timbers were replaced, and once the frame structure was bolted up, planking commenced starting just below the sheer strake, which was replaced in 1988. (See next pages)
