Five floor timbers forward in the bows were replaced and increased in size. The forward chine sections were laminated right in place to achieve the necessary 3" thickness and required shape, for they change from a log aft, curve up and twist around, and then gradually transition into a narrow plank from about 20 feet abaft the stem, then forward to the stem. |

The aft chine sections, being pretty much a straight log, were first rough-shaped off the boat, then offered up and bolted as per original construction. (One 3/8" carriage bolt passing through the bottom frame, and another through the side frame.) The aft chine sections are over 43 feet long. |
