With the chines installed, planking commenced on the port side and was completed prior to any starboard side planking in order to allow paint prep to proceed port side. This was due to the size of the vessel and the need to meet the Feb 18th deadline. |

Last came the starboard side planking and caulking, and the refastening of several plank butts in the bottom. New planking material is on its way, and when "Liberty" returns this fall, we will be replacing as much topside planking and frame-to longitudinal bolts as the three month haul permits. |
