In this first stage of a three stage repair, the chines were replaced port & starboard and stem to stern. Two planking courses just above the chines also had to be replaced. While these timbers were removed, we replaced hundreds of frame bolts due to corrosion. The new galvanized bolts were well coated in tar prior to installation. |

The two lower transom planks were deteriorated and were replaced. The 40 or so bolts holding the lower transom framing together were highly corroded and they too were replaced. The New chines have sections over 40 feet long and therefore contain a single butt. |
